TEACH ME
Matthew 5:1
Hebrews 10:12
If we’re not taught, blessings won’t be caught!
John 14:26
I don’t want to be bitter, I want to get better!
Makarios, the Greek word for blessed, means Happy, super fortunate, flourishing, or thriving.
I can be happy because I know who I used to be and I know what God has done in me!
Matthew 5:4 blessed (happy) are those who mourn because they will be comforted.
Mourning - deep sadness because of our sins and to turn away from sin and completely surrender to Him.
What we’ve done isn’t greater than the sacrifice of our Heavenly Father’s son!
Matthew 5:5
Matthew 23:12
Meekness is power under control.
Matthew 5:6
Sin takes you to places you don’t want to be and keeps you there longer than you want to be.
What’s in you, will pour out of you to others!
If you’re not Lord of all you’re not Lord at all!
Matthew 5:1

SIT DOWN
Matthew 5:1
We can sit down if we’re standing on God’s promises!
We hear the word but we don’t believe it!
#1 Sit Down with Jesus
The Greek word for disciple mathētēs means a learner, student, or pupil.
Disciples are created by someone sitting down with Jesus, learning about Him and then when they know Him, they tell others about Him!
Whomever you make time for today is who you’ll become tomorrow.
#2 Sit down and make Jesus be the Center of your life
The Beatitudes outline the attitudes of a true disciple, someone who has decided to walk in the ways of God verses the things of the world.
Matthew 5:3
Someone who is poor in spirit realizes that they are morally, spiritually and even physically bankrupt without the grace of God.
Jesus asks us that are part of His Kingdom to be completely obedient to Him physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Galatians 2:20
#3 Sit Down and Rest
Hebrews 8:1
Hebrews 10:12
Romans 8:17
Ephesians 2:6
If God said it, I believe it and if I believe it, I can sit down and rest!
If God said it, God settled it!
IF God said it, rest in it!

LEAVE THE NET
-Matthew 4:18-22
One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers-Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew - throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!" And they left their nets at once and followed him. A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too. They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.
-Walking the wilderness prepared Jesus' humanity for what was going to come in His divinity!
-Walking in the wilderness brings out our Greatness!
-When Jesus calls, be willing to drop what is and walk toward what can be.
-The Greek word for follow means to fully know or have understanding.
-Jesus didn't ask them to leave the nets but they were desperate for their next!
-Phillipians 3:8-9 everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.
-Are you willing to leave your net and let Jesus become your net?
-A net provides security, Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord stays close around those who fear Him, and He takes them out of trouble
-A net brings provision, Psalm 34:10 strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing
-A net catches and holds, Psalms 63:8, My soul holds onto You, Your right hand holds me.
-We must leave what we can do so we can see what God can do!
-When Jesus calls, Don't repair the net you're called to leave
-Be careful not to take your eyes off of your calling because of comfort.
-Follow Jesus and let Him repair your net.
-2 Corinthians 5:17 anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
